History

DemandPoint Inc was founded almost 30 years ago as JCIT by John Costanza as a training facility to improve the world of manufacturing and refocus companies to understand it is the actual demand they should be structuring themselves to build to, instead of the forecast estimate. Costanza researched international manufacturing and formalized a mathematically-based flow manufacturing technology and named his patented system DemandFlow technology. As a result, Costanza received multiple awards and recognitions, including being nominated for the Nobel Prize in Economics, being named a Hero of US Manufacturing by Fortune Magazine and winning the Odyssey of the Mind Award. Recognized as the “Father of Flow”, his business book “The Quantum Leap in Speed to Market” continues to be an international best seller.

While continuing to provide training services to clients, JCIT successfully introduced consulting services, helping more than 4,000 businesses understand their mission and improve their methodology for manufacturing goods. Through mergers and acquisitions, JCIT became DemandPoint and began to focus beyond the factory floor, bringing DemandFlow science to the entire supply chain. DemandFlow science recognizes that volatility in demand for goods is the driving force across a supply chain, not someone’s forecast. In recent years, the company has also focused on delivering not just excellence in consulting and training, but software which enables ongoing utilization of the best practices that our consultants engineer into a customer’s supply chain. This software is centered on a standardized platform that augments DemandFlow science and allows for present and future modules to be delivered.

Through its history, DemandPoint has trained over 100,000 supply chain professionals in the DemandFlow technology that enables companies to respond faster and more efficiently to changing customer demand. The company is led by a group of supply chain specialists, whose strong foundation provides the basis for helping companies implement demand-driven manufacturing, supply and fulfillment strategies today.
